Rose Festival 2022, Chandigarh – A Spectacle Event
The 50th Rose Festival 2022, Chandigarh – A Spectacle Event was a successful event held in Zakir Hussain Rose Garden with the theme of “Chandigarh- Our City Our Pride” under Mission Swatch Chandigarh, in sector 16. It was a 3-day event, in which many cultural programs were held from the 25th of February to the 27th of February. Chandigarh’s Mayor Sarabjit Kaur Dhillon and Punjab Governor & UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated the Rose fest event under the Covid guidelines and protocols, in the Rose Garden. During the period of Corona, it is the first big event held in 2022 after the lockdown took effect in 2019.

Visitors in thousands attended the Festival with their friends and family. The first day, it was less crowded because being held on a weekday but it became lively on Saturday the 26th and the final day, it was super crowded as people from outside Chandigarh also visited the place.
In the Fest, there were hundreds of varieties of Roses like Shining Hour, Perfect Moment, Jardinero, Lemon Spice, Granada, Mimes Rose, Fragrant Lady, Pinocchio, etc that were a sight to watch. Many cultural performances also took place there which was the life of this event. There were also held a floral hat display, photography exhibition, competitions such as Rangoli Competition, Brass and Pipe band competition, Hasya Kavi Sammelan, Brij ke Geet by artists from Mathura, Kalbelia dance from Rajasthan, Puppet Show, Magic show, etc.
In this three-day event, famous artists and Singers such as Karmaraj (Punjabi folk singer), Renowned folk singer Lakhwinder Wadali, and Dr. Mamta Joshi, captured the heart of many people with their lovely performances. The closing ceremony and prize distribution were held on Sunday evening respectively.
As the Golden Jubilee edition of the three-day mega event ended peacefully and without any casualties, it was a huge success for the civilians as well as the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (MCC).
The Rose Festival 2022, Chandigarh – A Spectacle Event, it truly was. There were thousands of people who got precious memories of different varieties of beautiful roses, mesmerizing artists and their arts.
