Chandigarh Bird Park

The Department of Forest & Wildlife, UT Chandigarh has developed Chandigarh Bird Park at Nagar Van behind Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. The main motive to build this place was to create awareness among the general public towards bird conservation, especially the young minds on nature education, and its conservation. The Hon’ble First Lady of India, Smt. Savita Kovind inaugurated the Chandigarh Bird Park on 16th November 2021. The Park has been created for the exotic birds which are commonly bred in India.

The main attractions of this Park are African Love Birds, Budgerigars, White Swan, Black Swan, Wood duck, Golden Pheasant, Yellow Golden Pheasant, Green Wing Macaw, Dun Conures, and African Grey Parrot, Finches, and Melanistic Pheasant. The Chandigarh Bird Park has different species of exotic birds including Aquatic, Terrestrial, and Tamed.

The Major Attraction of this Bird Park is, the Tamed Bird Section known as Winged Wonders. This section gives an opportunity to ordinary people to have a close interaction with the birds.

The birds are placed in enclosures in their natural habitat and the visitors can have a close look at these birds. Everything about the related bird is being displayed on the display chart which is put in the concerned enclosure of a bird. The whole journey to this park is pure nature friendly and made with care as people especially children will get information about the respective bird.
