Welcome to Candyland! The Chandigarh Carnival 2023, commencing on Friday (November 24) at the open ground opposite Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10, will embrace the delightful theme of candies. Every aspect, from decorations to motifs to even tableaus, will be infused with a candy-based ambiance, captivating the hearts of children.
The event will be inaugurated by Union Territory Administrator Banwarilal Purohit at 12 noon, with MP Kirron Kher as the esteemed guest of honor.
Elaborate preparations have been made by the authorities to ensure that the three-day event becomes a magnificent affair. From showcasing vintage cars to hosting musical evenings featuring renowned artists like Kailash Kher and Babbu Mann, along with exhibition stalls and various amusement items, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
North Zone Cultural Centre artists will showcase their cultural performances, while eminent artists will display their artwork at the open ground. The carnival venue will also feature exhibition stalls, food stalls, amusement park, floats, and business stalls, all open from 10 am to 10 pm until November 26 (Sunday).
The musical ensemble of Himachal Police, known as ‘Harmony of the Pines’, is scheduled to deliver a captivating performance this evening at 7 pm.
Singers B Praak, Raftaar, and Ikka will be performing at a private event held at the Sector 34 ground on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Museum and Art Gallery will showcase classic automobiles from 10 am to 7 pm. Additionally, there will be an activity called ‘Explore Your City and Discover its Natural Wonders’ from noon to 2 pm, followed by a screening of the movie ‘A Journey through India’s Wildlife’ from 4 pm to 5 pm.
