The Fateh Burj (symbolized as The Victory Tower), the tallest minar in India, is situated in the historical village of Chappar Chiri in the SAS Nagar district (Mohali district) of Punjab state. The 328 feet (100 m) tower is dedicated to the establishment of the Sikh Misls in a large part of Punjab in 1711.
Chappar Chiri village is along the Kharar-Banur Road National Highway 205A (India), now officially named Banda Singh Bahadur Road. It is situated just outside Mohali, a few kilometers from Landran and 20 km from Sirhind. It was here that Banda Singh Bahadur, one of the most respected Sikh warriors, won a decisive battle against Wazir Khan, commander of the Mughal army.
Wazir Khan deployed his cannons and lined up his elephants, cavalry, and skilled warriors at a plain site beyond which lay the rough landscape of Chappar Chiri (Chappar means pond and Chiri means a cluster of trees) and surrounding tibbas (mounds). Baba Banda Singh Bahadur reached the site on the eve of the battle. He climbed the highest tibba to take stock of the situation and drew a strategy for the war. The tibbas provided defense from cannon fire and the chiri forced the enemy to engage in close-quarter fighting.

The tower was completed in 2011 by Architects/Landscape Designers are Renu Khanna and Associates, Panchkula.

The main highlight of Chappar Chiri is the Statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
The ‘Fateh Burj’, showcases three battle victories via three levels in the tower – Victory of Samana at 67 feet, Victory of Sadhaura at 117 feet, and Victory of Chappar Chiri at 220 feet.
This Memorial has six mounds with the statues of Banda Singh Bahadur and his five generals – Bhai Fateh Singh, Bhai Aali Singh, Bhai Maali Singh, Bhai Baaj Singh, and Bhai Ram Singh.
Memorial also has an open theatre that can seat over 1,200 people.
Entry and parking are free of cost.
A very pleasant place to visit with family and friends. The war memorial looks grand and a small lake adds beauty to it. There is a small cafe within this place. The toilets were clean.
